I know I left that IP packet somewhere?

The Question is:

A customer of us has run into problems when using tcp/ip on following
 configuration:

OpenVMS V7.1

Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.2 - ECO 2
on a AlphaServer 4100 5/400 4MB running OpenVMS V7.1

Operating system: OpenVMS Alpha AXP

The problem is that some tcp/ip packages are lost and the process hangs waiting
for the lost packages to arrive.

The process is reading data from a sequential file and wrting it into a
database. At somepoint, tcp/ip looses data and the process hangs.

UCX device_socket shows:

Writing process receive send
I/O completed 4070 4070
Bytes transfered 2436179 13325950

Receiving process
I/O completed 4069 4069
Bytes transfered 13325683 2436179

As it shows, there is one i/o less completed in the receiving end than in the
 sending end.

The process works well on single-CPU machine with the same data.
Also, there is no problems on dual-cpu machine if DECNET is used.

My question is: Is there known TCP/IP problems on multi-processor OpenVMS Alpha
 environment?

Thanks for your time

The Answer is :

Please first upgrade to V5.0A, then please contact the Compaq
  Customer Support Center for assistance.

This could potentially be a result of an application programming bug
(please see topic 1661 as a start), or it could be from a network or
IP routing problem, or it could be a problem within the TCP/IP Services
package or within the OpenVMS network device drivers.
