Customizing notice text during login?

The Question is:

 
Is there any way of getting multiple announce messages during logging in.
 
Ie a different announce message for LAT and TELNET, or even a different
 announce message for certain IP ranges.

The Answer is :

 
  Yes, this is possible.  Incorporate some simple DCL into SYLOGIN.COM
  to display the appropriate textual notice, based on the source, time,
