IP Network Connectivity?

» close window

The Question is:

We have a Alphaserver DS20 with OpenVMS v7.2-1. The network administrator
reports that users from a certain IP range cannot access the machine, but he
is adamant that its not an access list or firewall issue on a router/firewall.
He reports that he has pr
oven that only the Alphaserver is denying all traffic from the specific IP range.

My question is. I have went through the FAQs and numberous documentation CDs.
Any ideas where to look for such a block?

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume this IP stack is TCP/IP Services V5.0A,
and not some other earlier version or some other third-party IP stack.

Use traceroute, ping, and similar tools to examine the access to the
system via IP. The logs from any available network monitors might
  also be interesting.

One test that would prove (or disprove) the network administrator's
report would involve configuring the AlphaServer DS20 and one other
IP host system on a private and isolated network segment, and testing
  the connectivity.

What are the results of the traffic being denied? Please contact the
Compaq Customer Support Center, as further discussions will likely be
required before this can be resolved.
