Where-oh-where did my PATHWORKS PDC go?

» close window

The Question is:

hi

after upgrading to vms 7.2-1 and pwrk 6.0 the pwrk logon process told me always
that the primary domain controller could not be found.
the pdc is running on a wnt 4.0 system. during the pwrk configuration the vms
system could found the pdc and copied the sam database files.
after starting pwrk every logon on the admin utility ended up in the error
message: could communicate with pdc. all the network share do not work,
because all nt user have no permissions.
what4s wrong?

The Answer is :

Please review the System Event Logs on both the PDC and on the PATHWORKS
Server, these logs may contain hints about the problem(s).

Ensure that the PATHWORKS server can correctly resolve the name of the
PDC -- try to ping the PDC host.

Ensure that PATHWORKS and the PDC are running the same transports.

Consider tracing Network traffic between the PDC and the BDC, if you are
  familiar with interpreting network-level traffic.

Otherwise, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.
