Cannot bootstrap on TK50?

» close window

The Question is:

I'm currently trying to boot from a TK50 Tape Drive. When I try to boot the
tape I get an error that consists of the following:
"%sysboot% can't find TUDRIVER" or something of that matter. Anyway, I was
just wondering if that means that my Tape is shot? Thanks Wizard.

The Answer is :

Either your tape drive is malfunctioning, you are using an incorrect
boot command, the target tape cartridge does not contain a bootable
system, or this is an unusual or incorrect hardware configuration.
The OpenVMS Wizard strongly recommends a move to the use of CD-ROM
media and distributions for all OpenVMS VAX systems.
