The Question is: how does OpenVMS create Barcoding The Answer is : OpenVMS itself is an operating system, and knows little (or nothing) of barcodes nor of other external data representations. The reading and writing of barcodes is typically performed by application software running on OpenVMS, and this software translates into and out of the internal binary values that are required by the application(s). For information on barcode-aware applications, please see the catalog of software applications referenced in the OpenVMS FAQ.
