Logging Startup Output?

» close window

The Question is:

Hi Wizard,

Got a stumper for you... he-he... I have an Alpha 500au tower workstation. I
need to connect my laptop to it so I can record the boot process to a file on
my laptop. I have tried COM1 and COM2 ports (the motherboard is PC-like in
 that it even includes
a couple of USB ports..., guess that's for NT, no?). The software I use on
the laptop (IBM Thinkpad) is Reflections by WRQ.

Sam

The Answer is :

Please see topic 5406 for the OpenVMS mechanism for logging startup.

For information on the OpenVMS console serial lines (labeled com1 and
com1 on some platforms) including the pinout, please see the OpenVMS
FAQ. On OpenVMS, com2 is normally TTA0:, while com1 is OPA0: (console)
or TTB0: if the console is set to serial or to graphics, respectively.

For assistance with the other platform, please contact the appropriate
wizard. For assistance with the software package involved on the other
platform, please contact the package vendor or support organization.
