Remote printing, remote batch submission?

The Question is:

 
We have begun adding Alpha servers to run reports against copies of our
 database in order to relieve the main VAX ACMS system.  We don't want to go
 full CLUSTER,  all we really need is a simple way to submit batch jobs from
 the VAX to the Alpha.  Is there
 a distributed queing type product available that would accomplish this for us?

The Answer is :

 
  The DQS package, the SUBMIT/REMOTE command, and the use of a locally
  written DECnet DCL task-to-task environment would all be obvious
  approaches.  For additional details, please see the DQS Software
  Product Description, the HELP text and OpenVMS documentation, and
  topics such as 159, respectively.
 
  Most OpenVMS systems will include at least a cluster client license
  as part of the NAS license, one of the licenses that is included with
  most recent OpenVMS system purchases.
