IP Network Connection Losses?

» close window

The Question is:

Hello,

We are running 2 alpha's with OVMS 7.2-1 and 4 vaxes with 7.2. These were
 lately upgrade from OVMS 7.1

We are having some connection losses (telnet)
This is not a problem of our LAN or WAN, because some users have multiple
sessions open and only 1 or 2 are dropped.

Thanx in advance,

Paul

The Answer is :

This could be a hardware, software, or network problem -- that only
some of multiple sessions are dropped does not rule out any source.
Causes could range from insufficient host resources to a routing or
  cabling problem.

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have the current release and ECO
installed for the particular TCP/IP product. As of this writing (in
January 2001), the current version of Compaq TCP/IP Services is V5.0A
  with ECO.

If this is Compaq TCP/IP Services product, please contact the Compaq
Customer Support Center, as rather more information on the network and
the network counters -- as well as additional details around the telnet
connection losses -- will be required.
