Source code navigation?

» close window

The Question is:

I work with Dec C and, from my experience,
see great use to the compiler-generated
listings "cc/list/show=all". These files can run 50,000 blocks after pulling
in include files and with extensive cross-reference tables at the bottom.

Is there any change that Compaq might enhanse the listing by generating as an
HTML document so that one could navigate the file and the references via HTML
 hyperlink? Something like
cc/list/show=(html_format,...)

PS: I've enjoyed looking over your old postings, but I might suggest imbedding
a date in them so one can just how old they are and how likely an answer might
 be subject to change.

Thank you,

George Snead

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard would encourage use of the debugger EDIT command, as
well as the language sensitive editor available in DECset. Both (and
other similar tools) can ease the task of source code navigation.
