The Question is:

Hi Wiz,

I am running open VMS 7.2-1 on Alpha ES40 600 mhz dual processor.

I am trying to run ZModem to down load files from the VMS host to a PC running
windows95 and with the use of a terminal emuulator (Reflections 2 for
 windows95 version 5.10, 32 bit addition).

I am using the following command from the DCL promt. "$ mcr
 $2$DKA0:[SYS0.SYSCOMMON.omen]vsz sz -E EP dbs$root:[9999]0310dt23.zip"

The transfer seem to start but in a few seconds the following error message
pops up in the Reflections window. " File transfer failed: No response frome
 remote system.

The command from the dcl prompt works on my alpha 2100 running OpenVMS 6.2-1h4
and ucx. 4.0 with a single processor.

My question is why is Zmodem not working on my Alpha ES40?

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position to provide support for the
zmodem package, please contact the folks that are coordinating that
  package.

Alternatives include TCP/IP networking (FTP or NFS), SMB (PATHWORKS,
Advanced Server, or SAMBA), or Kermit.

Foreign commands generally use standard foreign command syntax, either
via a DCL symbol or via the DCL$PATH mechanism. (The RSX compatibility
mode invocation MCR is not the usual syntax for a foreign command.)
