Unusual TP_SERVER Activity?

» close window

The Question is:

Hi,

We're running OpenVMS V7.1-1H2 on an Alpha 4100 server. We have 4 600mhz
 processors.

Normally the TP_SERVER process is not noticable on the system, yet yesterday it
has started to consume between 70-100% of our primary cpu.

No system changes have been made that could have resulted in this.

What is the problem ? Why did this happen ? What's the resolution ?

Thanks for your time.

The Answer is :

The intial assumption would be of a configuration error or a bug in
the TP server -- assuming the TP server is not simply unusually busy.
Apply the available ECO kits, ensure that the TP server and the TP
log file are correctly configured, and then contact the Compaq
  Customer Support Center.

Your OpenVMS Alpha version is no longer supported, and should be
upgraded to V7.1-2 and ECO, or V7.2-1 and associated ECO kits.
Numerous ECO kits for OpenVMS Alpha V7.1, V7.1-1H1, and V7.1-1H2
were incorporated together into the OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 release.
