Remote X Windows Display? XDM?

» close window

The Question is:

X-Window remote session!!

I know neither OpenVMS nor DECwindows do not offer the XDMCP capability.

I would like to know how can I obtain an X-Window session of an Alpha server
(DS10) in a PC or VT terminal by an ethernet.

Is that possible?
which kind of software or hardware I need?

If I have to remit my question to another place, please let me know!

thanks in advance!

The Answer is :

XDM support is available with current OpenVMS, TCP/IP Services,
and DECwindows. Specifically, see TCP/IP Services V5.1 and later.

Remote displays without XDM have been possible since the inception
of DECwindows, and support is available for an X Server accessed
via IP, DECnet, or the local memory transport. If you wish to
display X Windows sessions remotely, you need to acquire and
configure an X Server for the target display system, and you need
to use the SET DISPLAY command on OpenVMS.
