IP Addressing and ACCVIO?

» close window

The Question is:

Having added pseudo INET devices so we can have multiple IP addresses on the
one Network Port, tried adding all ten but kept getting access violations
after 6, so stopped at 7 including the real device.

The problem is when data is sent from the psuedo device, the receiving router
sees the actual device IP address NOT the psuedo address. We require that the
psuedo address be seen, as the router does not allow us to use the same
 interface for multiple data
feeds, it is a security issue.

We are running DIGITAL TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V5.0A on a
Compaq AlphaServer ES40 with 4 CPU's (666 MHz) with 2G Memory running OpenVMS
 V7.1-2

Can we resolve this without having to buy extra network cards as we require
about five additional IP addresses per machine.

The Answer is :

You will need to contact the support center, as additional details
on the configuration, the access violation, and the current and
planned network configuration will be required.
