Restoring Cluster Quorum?

» close window

The Question is:

How do I adjust QUORUM to bring the cluster back to life manually if I have got
into a QUORUM LOST, BLOCKING ACTIVITY state but want to carry on with what
 I've got left?.

The Answer is :

  Depending on the environment, via:

    $ SET CLUSTER/EXPECTED_VOTES=3

  Via:

the "Q" command available within the console's IPL C handler.
IPL C is sometimes called the IPC handler, based on its prompt.
The IPC C handler within OpenVMS is triggered by an operator
request of an IPL C interrupt, using system console commands.

  Via:

    the SHUTDOWN.COM option REMOVE_NODE

  Via:

    AMDS or Availability Manager.

Details are in the OpenVMS documentation.

If you do not have AMDS or Availability Manager installed, start
  there.

Please review the OpenVMS FAQ for details on setting VOTES and
  EXPECTED_VOTES correctly.
