SMTP, POP, IMAP MAIL Client?

» close window

The Question is:

Is it possible to use the MAIL program as a standard email client .

Sending messages with the SMTP server from my provider and getting the emails
 with pop account?

Thanks!

The Answer is :

Please read the available documentation on TCP/IP Services for details
on configuring TCP/IP SMTP and POP support. (IMAP support is expected
to be made available in TCP/IP Services V5.3 and OpenVMS V7.3-1.)

You will want to use an email client that is available for OpenVMS that
has POP or (in TCP/IP Services V5.3 and later) IMAP support, with specific
examples including the client provided with Mozilla and the CSWB browser.
  Various other clients are available.

The stock OpenVMS mail client does not offer a POP client capability.
