VAXstation console (hardware) error?

» close window

The Question is:

Is this a hardware error, or can I do something to get rid of this error? I
can't get Standalone back to work with this error (and therefore can't load
 VMS.)

Thanks,
patrick

The Answer is :

This appears to be a console-reported fatal error, though
there are usually cryptic letter codes included. What is
provided is not an OpenVMS error.

This VAXstation offers various console diagnostics and it runs
some basic diagnostics at power-up; are any errors reported?

OpenVMS V7.1-2 is only available for OpenVMS Alph, thus the
OpenVMS Wizard will assume this is OpenVMS VAX V7.1. (Though
you are not getting to OpenVMS here.)

If this is a CD-ROM bootstrap, Please review the 512-byte sector
size requirements discussed in the OpenVMS FAQ.

Please contact your hardware support organization for assistance
in resolving this problem. Expect to be asked details of the
hardware configuration, including details of the bootstrap device
and of the SCSI bus configuration and termination.
