Direct Printer (Queue) Output To File?

The Question is:

 
Is there a way to direct printer output directly to a file?
 
Much like how a PC prints to a file (creating a .prn)?
 
A label printer that we are evaluating has a unique setup. We need to be able
 to direct the entire data stream to a file to see exactly what characters
 (setup-formatting, >esc< characters, etc.) are generated when a printjob is
 sent to the printer from a
particular queue.
