DECevent License PAK?

» close window

The Question is:

We have two alpha/OVMS systems on 7.2. We get a DECevent license expiration
when looking at the PAKs, and we cannot use "Analyze" or "Diagnose" on these
systems. The documentation indicates that BTT is allowed without a service
 agreement license - ergo,
how can we utilize this BTT translation functionality to look at device errors
 manually on these systems? Thanks.

The Answer is :

  The ANALYZE/ERROR interface is retired.

  DIAGNOSE invokes DECevent.

DECevent V3.4 is the current release, with Compaq Analyze (CA)
being the currently-prefered and equivalent package.

No license PAK is required for Bit To Text Translation (BTT),
though customers with a hardware service contract can request
the PAK for the notification and predictive analysis features.
Without specifics of the command(s) attempted or the error(s)
received, no more specific answer is particularly feasible.

DECevent kits are available from the following site:

    http://www.compaq.com/support/svctools/

Assuming that you are not trying to use any non-BTT features of
DECevent, consider disabling and unloading the expired PAK as a
  test.
