NFS authentication troubleshooting?

» close window

The Question is:

Version 2 nfs mounts served from alpha server running OPEN VMS V7.2-1 onto
 Tru64 server running V5.0.

When Tru64 client server boots we get the following error apon nfs mounts :

 RPC: Authentication error

But once server is up , we can :

mount -a

And the nfs mounts are successfull.

Any ideas as to cause of this issue and possible fixes ?

Thanx

The Answer is :

If you are not already using TCP/IP Services V5.3 or later (as
available) and with the current ECO, please upgrade. Please also
consider upgrading to OpenVMS Alpha V7.2-2 or V7.3-1 or later
  (as available).

Please check the NFS server log for the underlying cause of the
authentication error; TCPIP SHOW SERVICE NFS/FULL for details.
Please also check that the users involved in the initial and the
subsequent and successful mount operations have correct proxies.

To reload proxies particularly on TCP/IP Services V5.1 and later
  NFS implementations, see TCPIP$EXAMPLES:TCPIP$PROXY_RELOAD.COM --
delays in loading the proxies can also cause authentication errors.
