DECnet end-nodes and multiple circuits?

» close window

The Question is:

I have a DS20E with two network cards one is EIA-0 and the other being EWA-0 on
issuing the $MCR NCP SHOW KNOWN LINES CHAR.
What is the default search list when using DECnet Phase IV since an application
I want to install takes the last address which is EWA-0, and if applicable is
 the search list configurable?

The Answer is :

Both network connections are used, though the order of device
configuration is and will remain unspecified and subject to change.

DECnet Phase IV end-nodes with multiple circuits will configure and
operate on one of these devices (largely arbitrarily) and manual
fail-over is possible. DECnet Phase IV Routers and DECnet-Plus
routers will use all available circuits. DECnet-Plus end-nodes
will receive on all circuits, and will select one (again largely
arbitrarily, though manual selection reconfiguration is possible)
  for all transmissions.

Please contact the vendor supporting the (unspecified) application
for the application-specific configuration details and options.
