Text Editor Command Help?

» close window

The Question is:

how do you close an editing file without saving it?

The Answer is :

That depends greatly on the text editor in use. Assuming the default
EVE editor invoked by the default EDIT command, the most common way
involves pressing the DO key or the PF4 key, and then entering the
  command QUIT.

For details on the EVE text editor, please see the OpenVMS manuals.

Numerous editors are available, including LSEdit, TPU, EVE, Emacs,
vi, EDT, teco, and many others.
