SCSI Disk Drive Capacility Limits?

The Question is:

I have VAX system working on OVMS 6.2 ,and connected to storage with HSJ40 oh
HSOF 2.5 ,please is it support 18.2 GB HDD

The Answer is :

In general, your OpenVMS version is too old for larger disks.

As you carefully avoid mention of the specific disk device(s), the
OpenVMS Wizard will assume you are requesting assistance with the
integration and testing of a third-party storage device.

Officially, third-party devices are not supported by HP.

It is unlikely that a disk enclosure shipped with an HSJ40 series
CI controller has sufficient heating or cooling for an 18GB disk,
as this is fairly old hardware and as newer disks have larger
cooling requirements than many of these older enclosures can
provide. Some older enclosures do have sufficient cooling and
some do have cooling or fan upgrades, but not all. If you have
a newer enclosure, you may have sufficient cooling.

Please contact a StorageWorks Wizard, as details of the storage
enclosure and of the specific storage device will be required.
(The OpenVMS Wizard is not a StorageWorks Wizard.)

For information on disk limits and for details of third-party disk
integration considerations, and necessary and OpenVMS versions and
ECO kits, please see the OpenVMS FAQ -- the FAQ has a section on
this topic, including OpenVMS versions and required ECOs. And
the previously-referenced section on third-party SCSI device
  considerations, as well.
