REPLY to BACKUP Assistance Request?

» close window

The Question is:

How do I reply to a backup assistance request for mounting tk50 tape.

The Answer is :

  Via the REPLY command, assuming the terminal is enabled as an operator,
  or by loading the required storage medium into the TK50 tape drive.

  Once the tape has been loaded, you can use DCL commands such as the
  following:

    $ REPLY/ENABLE
    $ REPLY/STATUS
    $ REPLY/TO=n command

  An example of the command syntax for the lattermost command is in the
  help text for REPLY/TO:

    REPLY/TO=identification-number "SUBSTITUTE  device-name"

  Please ensure you have the current mandatory ECO kits loaded for this
  release, as there are ECO kits applicable to this and to related areas.

  Also please see topic (8456).
