Prompting for Third-Party Password Change?

» close window

The Question is:

I need to sync the password change prompt to include a third party prompt as
 well.

Essentially, I want the User to be prompted to change the password on their
 third party software as well.

What trigger could I be able to tell if the User changes his/her password? If
I am able to obtain the changed password, I can then turn the User's login to
 the third party prompt.

The Answer is :

Please see the LGI callouts and the V7.3-1 External Authentication
  (ACME) callouts.

It would be best to have the third-party software use the OpenVMS
password authentication, as it is almost certain that the third-party
passord mechanism will be useful in compromising the OpenVMS system
security -- while this is not intended as a hacking tutorial,
most every third-pary application password system that the OpenVMS
Wizard is aware of is effectively broken.

Alternatively, have OpenVMS and the third-party password mechanism
both use Kerberos or LAN Manager or similar external authentication.
