Machine Check (MACHINECHK) bugcheck errors?

» close window

The Question is:

We have a VAXcluster with 2 MVax 6400 (named
CSIM2 and CSIM3) and 3 VaxStation (named CSIM4,
CSIM5 and CSIM7). Suddenly and 2 or 3 times a
day(!), it happens that one of the node (CSIM3) shutdown and reports this kind
 of error:

ERROR SEQUENCE 3192. LOGGED ON: SID 0A000005

The Answer is :

Machine check errors (MACHINECHK) typically imply hardware failures
or possibly (but less commonly) low-level software problems -- and
based on the error log, please contact your local hardware service
organization for assistance with these MicroVAX 3400 series
systems, as it would appear that you have one or more hardware
problems with one of the systems.

If you wish to perform self-maintenance of your hardware, please
consider the Assisted Services program referenced in the FAQ.
The Assisted Services program can provide you with diagnostics
and documentation and spares; with access to the information,
diagnostics, and supporting materials that can be needed to
maintain and to repair your own hardware.
