» close window

The Question is:

Configuration:
   - SCSI SCSI with 2 DS1O and a quorum disk
   - OpenVMS V7.3
      patchs VMS73_UPDATE-V0200

Problem:
The server 1 crashed with the following bugcheck :

CPU bugcheck codes:
CPU 00 -- INVRSPID, RSPID not valid

and the next day the second also crashed with :

CPU bugcheck codes:
CPU 00 -- INVLOCKID, Invalid lock id

Could you give us the reason about these unexpected reboot ?

Thank you

The Answer is :

Please apply the mandatory ECO kits for OpenVMS Alpha, and please
choose either XFC file system caching and apply the current XFC ECO
kit, or please choose VIOC file system caching -- the choice between
XFC and VIOC involves the use of the VCC_FLAGS system parameter.

If the only ECO kit you have installed is the VMS73_UPDATE V2.0 kit,
you are missing various mandatory updates including the V3.0 kit.
