Resetting SRM Console for Bootstrap?

» close window

The Question is:

I am attempting to perform a conversational boot on a AlphaServer 1000A. After
halting the system I entered the following command at the console prompt (>>>):

     BOOT -FLAGS 0,1

The system responds with

     Unknown system state.
System must be reset prior to boot.

What can I do to get to the "SYSBOOT>"
prompt?

Thanks!

The Answer is :

After attempting the recommended system reset sequence to attempt to
clear the state of the firmware (usually the SRM command init) and
assuming that the SRM has been properly configured to bootstrap OpenVMS
(eg: the SRM console environment variable os_type set to OpenVMS) and
after power-cycling the system, please then attempt to upgrade to the
current SRM console firmware version (if not already loaded) and
(assuming the problem persists) then please contact your prefered
hardware services organization for assistance with this system.
