Seeking ECO Information? V31Z1?

» close window

The Question is:

I need information regarding a patch, V31Z1. The patch is to be applied to an
OpenVMS6.2 system running on a VAX7620 with a bank of 6-RF36 disk drives. The
disk drives occasionally go into badblock scan when the batch processing
 deletes and writes back
to the disk (2G of data being deleted and written at the time the badblock scan
kicks off.) I need to have information regarding the patch and cannot find it
 on the web site.

The Answer is :

Please contact the customer support center, as this V31Z1 kit does not
appear to be an OpenVMS VAX ECO kit or kit name that the OpenVMS Wizard
recognizes -- this particular looks vaguely like a disk drive firmware
revision, and is accordingly not something that the OpenVMS Wizard is
  particularly familiar with.

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have evaluated replacing this DSSI
hardware with more current storage hardware -- the RF36 series disk
drives are very old and very slow 1.6 GB disk drives; these drives are
  antiques by current storage.
