Accounting, Auditing and Periodic Batch?

The Question is:

1. How do I permanently change ACCOUNTING resource and process types (SET
ACCOUNTING/ENABLE=IMAGE) does not work across re-boots)

2. After intentionally putting in the wrong password, there are no LOGFAIL
records in my ACCOUNTING file; looks like there are multiple LOGINOUT records
at the time of the login failure. ???

3. How do I automatically run a command file at login that generates a monthly
 accounting,
e.g.,
ACCOUNTING /BEFORE=1-JUN-04 /SINCE=1-MAY-04 /IMAGE=(LOGINOUT,SETP0)
 /TYPE=LOGFAIL /OUTPUT=DKA0:[ACCOUNTING]MAY04.DAT

I apologize if the answers are already in FAQ; I spent quite a bit of time
 looking there first.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Linda

The Answer is :

1: Enter the command in the SYSTARTUP_VMS procedure.

The OpenVMS Wizard uses a SYAUDIT command procedure.

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you are aware that image
accounting generates massive amounts of data, and little
of which has particular security relevence. Accordingly,
the OpenVMS Wizard would tend to use security alarms and
security auditing, and would add security access control
     list entries to sensitive objects.

2: Look in and use security auditing and security alarms, and
     not in the accounting data.

3: The OpenVMS Wizard would submit a self-resubmitting batch
job, and specifically one that runs at intervals of a month.

     Related topics include (3982), (4025), (4982), (5313),
     (6046), (6069), (6095) and (6790).

In this case, the OpenVMS Wizard have the batch job run
nightly and would immediately resubmit itself, and would
then determine if the weekday was Monday or that yesterday
had a different month or that the current day is the first.
If the test did not succeed, the batch job would exit. If
the test passed, the batch job would perform the requisite
     additional processing.

Scheduling packages are available, and some are discussed
     in the OpenVMS FAQ.
