Provide DECnet and TCP/IP users with access to mainframe applications by emulating IBM terminals.
The HP SNA 3270 Terminal Emulator for OpenVMS layered software product allows users of VT terminals (or other DIGITAL terminals or personal computers in VT100, VT200, or VT300 mode), on suitably configured OpenVMS systems within HP networks, to access IBM host-based applications interactively via a HP SNA Gateway. The
applications have been originally developed for IBM 3270 display stations in a systems network architecture (SNA) networking environment.
- Users invoke the 3270 utility using the local OpenVMS system's command language.
- Allows secure logical units (LU) to be accessed via password.
- Allows up to 16 alphanumerical characters to be coded in access-name parameter.
- Supports HP's License Management Facility.
