FMS is HP's workhorse character-cell, terminal-based, forms management system for interactive applications using video forms as the user interface. FMS provides application programmers with a set of development tools to create and maintain forms-based user interfaces and a runtime system for displaying and managing the application's user interface at execution time.
You can preserve your FMS-based application system investments while moving to HP's AlphaGeneration RISC technology. For new application system development, use DECforms, HP's highly functional forms product to implement your new user interfaces. An FMS-to-DECforms conversion tool is provided as part of DECforms.
