Supported software versions

Unless otherwise agreed to by Hewlett-Packard Company (HP), HP provides HP Support Services only for the current and immediately preceding versions of HP software, and only when the software is used with hardware that is included in HP-specified configurations. A version is defined as a release of a software product that contains new features, enhancements, and maintenance updates.

Note: HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS and UCX versions not mentioned here that predate the following chart do not have Sustaining Engineering (SE) support, even with a Prior Version Support (PVS) contract.

HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS support matrix
Current version-level support (Standard Support) and Prior Version Support (PVS) for OpenVMS operating system software will be provided for its versions in accordance with the following HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS support matrix. This chart will be updated regularly to reflect new version release dates and end-of-service dates for previous versions.

  • W/24 mo notice—These versions are in an extended PVS cycle. OpenVMS will provide a 24-month notification before ending support for these versions.
  • With O/S—Standard Support for HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS ends on the same date as its corresponding operating system.

Prior Version Support-Sustaining Engineering
Prior Version Support—Sustaining Engineering (PVS-Sustaining Engineering) provides full remedial support, including escalation to HP OpenVMS Engineering for problem resolution.

PVS-Sustaining Engineering key features include:

  • Ready access to technical experts by phone or e-mail
  • Online access to tools, technical information, conferences, and symptom/solution databases
  • Problem analysis and resolution
  • Software patch testing as required to solve problems
  • Critical on-site support
