DIGITAL SNA access server migration guide

[Top] [Prev] [Next] [Index] [Contents] DIGITAL SNA Access Server Migration Guide

Preface

DIGITAL SNA Access Server for Windows NT (Access Server) enables connectivity between DIGITAL OpenVMS SNA applications and IBM SNA hosts. The Access Server enables the Microsoft SNA Server (SNA Server) to function as an SNA gateway between a TCP/IP or DECnet network and an IBM SNA Network. The combination of the SNA Server and the Access Server working together is called the Access Server Gateway.

If you are currently running a DECnet SNA Gateway (consisting of either DECnet SNA Gateway-ST, or DECnet SNA Gateway-CT, or both), the Access Server Gateway is designed to replace it. This guide shows you how to set up and configure the new network so that you can continue to use the connection parameters in your current DECnet SNA applications-that is, so that you can migrate from the existing DECnet SNA Gateway to the new Access Server Gateway.
