DIGITAL SNA access server migration guide

[Top] [Prev] [Next] [Index] [Contents] DIGITAL SNA Access Server Migration Guide

The Migration Process Defined

Migrating involves replacing the hardware and software that make up the DECnet SNA Gateway with the hardware and software that make up the Access Server Gateway, and configuring and testing the new system.

There are two primary steps in migrating from a DECnet SNA Gateway to an Access Server Gateway:

  • Planning requires that you audit the current network configuration and develop the Access Server configuration, based on the existing DECnet SNA Gateway configuration.
  • Migrating involves configuring the software to use the Access Server Gateway and testing the network once you have completed the migration.
