Chapter 2

Understanding the Migration Process

The migration process replaces a DECnet SNA Gateway with an Access Server Gateway. This chapter describes the migration process in brief and lists the steps required for planning and implementing the migration. It provides guidelines to help you plan how long the migration will take and reviews what components of your network and your network management system may be affected.

In planning the migration, you should understand the concepts introduced in
Chapter 1 and in this chapter before you go on to Chapter 3.
