Access Names Dialog: Specify Access Names and Parameters

The parameters you specified in the ACCESS NAMES section of the Access Server Configuration Worksheet are configured in the Access Names dialog box (Figure 4-2). Click on the Access Names tab to display this dialog box.

You can define one or more Access Names, depending on how you planned to configure your network and how the existing DECnet SNA Gateway is configured. An Access Name entry must be saved (by pressing OK after the appropriate parameters are entered) before you can create another one.

For each Access Name you define, use the configuration information from the Configuration Worksheet to fill in the parameters, as follows:

  • Specify a Logon Mode and a Partner LU (required in order to use the defaulting feature of an Access Name).

  • Add one or more LUs to the LU List box, which may contain individual LU names and LU pool names.

  • If you plan to use Base Names with Access Names, add one or more Base Names to the Base Name List box, and choose the Base Name Radix (Decimal or Hexadecimal) (the Base Name Radix is not used if there are no entries in the Base Name List).
See "Specifying Access Names" in Chapter 5 of the Installation & Configuration Guide for specific and detailed information on using the Access Names dialog box.
