what's new with SEVMS

For use with all external Digital World-Wide Web Servers

  • SEVMS Alpha Version 6.2 is the second SEVMS release available for Digital's 64-bit Alpha platforms.

SEVMS Alpha is installed with the POLYCENTER Software Installation (PCSI) utility. PCSI streamlines the SEVMS Alpha installation process, making future upgrades easier to manage and simplifying SEVMS configuration tasks during installation.

SEVMS Alpha is distributed on a CD-ROM containing a bootable copy of the SEVMS Alpha operating system and the PCSI installation kit.

  • DECnet/OSI support for SEVMS is available as an option. This support makes it possible to connect SEVMS systems together by means of DECnet/OSI without compromising the SEVMS mandatory access control security policy.

  • Extended categories provides support for up to 65,536 secrecy and 65,536 integrity categories.

  • SEVMS VAX and SEVMS Alpha systems operating in a mixed-architecture VMScluster is a supported feature of SEVMS Version 6.2.
