HP RAID software for OpenVMS
  IMPORTANT SUPPORT NOTICE:

Effective December 1st, 2014, HP RAID software for OpenVMS will undergo a support status change from Standard Support to Mature Product Support without Sustaining Engineering.

As a result of the support status change, HP RAID software for OpenVMS will no longer have active engineering development to produce subsequent versions. This change will affect all the supported versions of the product on both OpenVMS for Alpha and OpenVMS for Integrity servers. You can perform similar functions using Controller RAID or Shadowing.
   

HP RAID supports Integrity servers, AlphaServer systems, and VAX systems

HP RAID software for OpenVMS ensures data availability and performance with software-based RAID technology. HP RAID software uses RAID technology to manage groups of disk drives as arrays. HP RAID software supports Striping (RAID Level 0), Striping with Parity (RAID Level 5), and Partitioning.

Because HP RAID software is a host-based capability, it can provide RAID capabilities across multiple controllers, even across multiple hosts.

Striping provides for enhanced I/O performance. Striping with Parity provides for enhanced data availability. Partitioning provides a way to let you subdivide arrays into multiple virtual disks for easier storage management.

HP RAID software Striping can be used with OpenVMS Volume Shadowing to provide RAID 0+1 capability. HP RAID software is supported on OpenVMS for Integrity servers, AlphaServer systems, and VAX systems.
