UCX: Named pipes and callable FTP

The Question is:

Hi. I am a former DEC employee now working at Microsoft. I want to send a
set of files from a VAX to a DEC ALPHA running NT; I am using FTP and it
works fine.

I need a better solution:
1) Can I establish a named pipe/mailbox between the VAX and NT machines?
2) Can I from a C program call the FTP routines?

The Answer is:

>1) Can I establish a named pipe/mailbox between the VAX and NT machines?

Not with current versions of VMS. Named pipe support is being
concidered for a future version of OpenVMS

>2) Can I from a C program call the FTP routines?

You can always spawn a process to perform the FTP. Some TCP/IP
vendors might have callable FTP code, UCX does not.
