Alpha microprocessor family and features
When you're squeezing out all the performance that the processor can give, it's important to know what kind of processor you're running on.Application programs using optimization techniques for particular processors can determine this at run-time with the sample program provided.

This should work on Alpha systems running both OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX.
