Ask the Wizard Questions

Installation & Update Manual for VAX?

The Question is:

Not so much a question as a request ...

I have noticed that since CD-ROM became the "preferred" distribution
media, Digital seems to have changed its policy toward installation
and upgrade manuals.

My company subscribes to the OpenVMS VAX binaries and documentation
on CD-ROM as well as to the full printed manual set. Whenever a new
VMS release comes out we receive the CD-ROMs and we receive an update
set for the printed manuals, but this *never* includes the printed
"Upgrade and Installation Manual"

I have observed that the OpenVMS Alpha releases, for customers
subscribing to manuals and CD-ROMs, *does* include the "Upgrade and
Installation Manual".

Can you please explain and/or correct this for future releases?

Thanks,

The Answer is:

There is _one_ Alpha Installation and Upgrade manual. There are
currently _fourteen_ VAX Installation and Upgrade manuals.
