Ask the Wizard Questions

Cluster: OPCOM in RWCSV

The Question is:

Hi,

Twice in the last week the OPCOM process, among others,
on one of our VMScluster boot nodes has gone into the
state RWCSV. Checking my Version 1.5 _OpenVMS AXP
Internals and Data Structures_, I am given a little
information on the RSN$_CLUSRV resource wait state; but
like any other greenhorn, I just want to know how to
"make it stop doing that". We have a mixed-architecture
cluster, with an AlphaServer 2100 4/233 as the Alpha
boot node, (this is the node on which OPCOM goes into
RWCSV), a VAXstation 4000/90 as the VAX boot node, and
about 17 other satellite nodes of both architectures.
The first time we had this problem, we'd just tried to
dismount a cluster-mounted disk on a satellite. We
don't have an event relation that we're sure of for the
second occurence; at the time we noticed the problem,
we were shutting down and rebooting a few satellite
nodes, and were moving a cluster-mounted disk from one
satellite node to another.

I appreciate your time, and any information you can
provide.

The Answer is:

This problem needs to be troubleshot. You will have to contact your
