QUESTION:
How can I set up a LAT port for use with the Auto Login Facility
(ALF)?
ANSWER:
ALF maintenance is performed using the SYSMAN Utility. A command
similar to the following can be used to add a port to the ALF file:
SYSMAN> ALF ADD /PORT "MN34C3/LC-1-2" username
^ ^
| |
server port
name name
IMPORTANT: The port specification must be in uppercase letters since
the Auto Login Facility is case sensitive.
NOTE: This also works for DECnet SET HOST by using a command similar
to the following:
SYSMAN> ALF ADD "::"/PORT
