Ask the Wizard Questions

C Language: C examples

The Question is:

[ I don't know the OpenVMS version...]

I'm a student at the UPC university, that they have some
VMS's & Alpha's connected in a network (cluster?).
I'm would get information about the VAX O.S., the C
libraries ( the VMS's HELP don't let's me so much
information about this... ), and some examples or
turorials about this...

Are FTP servers that have this information?
Where are they?

Thanks.

PS:...and sorry for my very *BAD* english...

The Answer is:

As you are a student, you will want to become familiar with the
various materials available to you at the university, and with the
process of gathering this information together. As a start, contact
the computer center staff and ask for assistance, and in particular
ask for access to the Digital documentation set for OpenVMS and for
the particular C compiler installed on the system, and for any local
   documentation available at the university.

:Are FTP servers that have this information?

Yes, but it is always best to look locally first.

:Where are they?

The OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) posting -- a monthly
posting in comp.os.vms -- is typically a good place to start when
looking for non-site-specific information. The OpenVMS FAQ is
   available at the following locations:

     ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/news.answers/dec-faq/vms
     CompuServe VAXFORUM, Library 0, VMSFAQ.TXT

There are a number of FTP sites containing examples in the FAQ.
