Ask the Wizard Questions

UCX: UCX errors

The Question is:

We are using an older version of UCX on our system, and
when I enabled a BIND server and put it in the
ucx$inet_set_interfaces.com and rebooted the system, the
system was able to do any internet service out, but we
are now unable to telnet, ftp, mail, or anything back in
to the system. There is an error at startup, which says
something about interface lo0 not being recongized. The
exact error is:
UCX-E-INVINTER error defining interface
UCX-E-DATAPROB error accessing ucx$host database
UCX-W-NORECORD information not found

I changed nothing else on the system but for the BIND
server option. When I enabled it manually (without
rebooting) we could telnet in and out just fine. But
the reboot seemed to screw things up. Can't find any
help in the manuals we have. Thanks for any suggestions!

The Answer is:

Check the contents of the UCX host database via UCX SHOW HOST commands,
re-run the UCX$CONFIG procedure, and look at re-registering a few nodes
   in the UCX host database.

UCX V4.0 is the current release. If you're running an "older version"
of UCX as you mention, you will want to seriously consider an upgrade.
