Ask the Wizard Questions

Mail: SMTP from mail

The Question is:

I'm binging up UCX Version 3.3 to get access to Internet
Mail. With newer version of VMS you can send mail using
the VMS Mail Utility by specifying and e-mail address of
the formatt;

 user@comp.com

at the TO: prompt in mail. In VMS 5.5-2 you have to specify

 inetnode::smtp%"user@comp.com"

Is there a way of getting VMS 5.5-2 Mail to allow easier
access to sending Internet Mail ?

By the way; what I'm doing is using a workstation in the
cluster to provide the service of connecting to SMTP mail
for the cluster so that I don't have to license the main
VAX's for Internet which would cost a bundle !!! That's
why there is the inetnode:: on the from of the mail message.

Thanks!

The Answer is:

    Update to Open VMS V6.1 or beyond.
